Arrival at Chennai International Airport. Upon arrival, you will pass immigration control, receive luggage, and then you will be met by our representative, who will accompany you to your hotel.

Chennai – Ancient temples, vibrant arts, natural wonders and a bustling culinary scene make Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the southern fringes of the country. Located on the Coromandel Coast, this busy metropolis was formerly called Madras.

Morning check out from the hotel and proceed for city tour visiting –

Fort Saint George – George (or historically, White Town) is a fortress at the coastal city of Chennai, India. Founded in 1639, it was the first English (later British) fortress in India. The construction of the fort provided the impetus for further settlements and trading activity, in what was originally an uninhabited land.

For tourists from outside the country, it is a place of marvel with guides explaining stories of Shiva and Vishnu.

 

Santhome Cathedral Basilica – Also known as St Thomas Cathedral Basilica and National Shrine of Saint Thomas, San Thome Church is a Roman Catholic minor basilica at Santhome in Chennai. It was built over the tomb of Saint Thomas in the 16th century by Portuguese explorers. In 1893, the British rebuilt it as a church with the status of a cathedral.

 

Afternoon drive to Mahabalipuram and on arrival check in at the hotel.

Mamallapuram, or Mahabalipuram, is a town on a strip of land between the Bay of Bengal and the Great Salt Lake, in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It’s known for its temples and monuments built by the Pallava dynasty in the 7th and 8th centuries. The seafront Shore Temple comprises 3 ornate granite shrines. Krishna’s Butter Ball is a massive boulder balanced on a small hill near the Ganesha Ratha stone temple.

Morning proceed for the city tour visiting –

Five Rathas – Pancha Rathas is a monument complex at Mahabalipuram, on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal, in the Chengalpattu district of the state of Tamil Nadu, India. Pancha Rathas is an example of monolithic Indian rock-cut architecture

Mahabalipuram Shore temple – The Shore Temple is both a rock cut and a free standing structural temple. The entire temple stands on a naturally occurring granite boulder. The complex consists of three separate shrines: two dedicated to the god Shiva, and one to Vishnu.

Arjuna’s Penance –  Descent of the Ganges, known locally as Arjuna’s Penance, is a monument at Mamallapuram, on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal, in the Chengalpattu district of the state of Tamil Nadu, India. Measuring 96 by 43 feet, it is a giant open-air rock relief carved on two monolithic rock boulders.

Morning drive to Pondicherry and on arrival check in at the hotel.

 

Pondicherry (or Puducherry), a French colonial settlement in India until 1954, is now a Union Territory town bounded by the southeastern Tamil Nadu state. Its French legacy is preserved in its French Quarter, with tree-lined streets, mustard-colored colonial villas and chic boutiques. A seaside promenade runs along the Bay of Bengal and passes several statues, including a 4m-high Gandhi Memorial.

Later proceed for the city tour visiting –

Aurobindo Ashram- The Sri Aurobindo Ashram is a spiritual community located in Pondicherry, in the Indian territory of Puducherry. The ashram grew out of a small community of disciples who had gathered around Sri Aurobindo after he retired from politics and settled in Pondicherry in 1910.

Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, situated on the south boulevard of Pondicherry in Puducherry, India, is an oriental specimen of Gothic Revival architecture. It contains rare stained glass panels depicting events from the life of Christ and saints of the Catholic Church

Morning drive to Chennai airport to board flight to Colombo (Sri Lanka).

A warm Sri Lanka smile and welcome by our airport representative on arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport, you will get your first taste of warm Sri Lankan hospitality.

Leave the airport and proceed to the Colombo. After checking the hotel proceed to City Tour.

On completion check in to the Hotel.

Colombo – Situated on the west coast of the island, just south of the Kelani River, Colombo is a principal port on the Indian Ocean. It has one of the largest artificial harbours in the world and handles the majority of Sri Lanka’s foreign trade.

After breakfast proceed to visit Pinnawala.

Pinnawala, a small town in Sri Lanka, is known for its Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, a popular tourist attraction established in 1975. Visitors can observe and interact with orphaned and abandoned elephants, learn about their conservation efforts, and enjoy the serene environment. Pinnawala is also a popular destination for nature lovers and tourists.

Thereafter proceed to visit Peradeniya Botanical Garden.

The Peradeniya Botanical Gardens in Sri Lanka, spanning 60 hectares at 460 meters elevation, house around 4,000 plant species, including many endemics and extinct-in-the-wild varieties. They are located on a horseshoe-shaped peninsula surrounded by the Mahaweli River.

After that proceed to visit Kandy.

The Kandy temple, a significant Buddhist cultural site, features a unique Kandyan architectural style, combining elements from Dalada Mandira shrines housing the Sacred Tooth Relic.
