Breakfast at hotel and proceed the sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swayambhunath.

 

Kathmandu Durbar Square:  Listed as one of Cultural World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Kathmandu Durbar Square is cluster of ancient temples, palaces, courtyards and streets that date back to the 12th and 18th centuries. The visit of Durbar Square includes the Temple of Living Goddesses, who acknowledges the greetings of the devotees from the balcony of her temple residence, the Hanuman Dhoka Royal Palace, the historic seat of the Royalty; the magnificent Taleju Temple towering 40 meters. The capital takes its name from the giant pagoda of Kasthamandap, which is said to have been built of a single tree. It has been the main focal point of the city’s social, religious and political from the Malla kings.

 

Swayambhunath: Also known as “Monkey Temple” is located at small hill top approximately 4 kms. /2.5 miles, this Buddhist Stupa is said to be 2000 years old. The Stupa which forms the main structure is composed of a solid hemisphere of brick and earth supporting a lofty conical spire capped by a pinnacle of copper gilt. Painted on the four sided base of the spire are the all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. This hill is a mosaic of small Chaityas and Pagoda temples.

 

Afternoon, visit to Patan.

 

Patan Durbar Square: Located about 5 km south of Kathmandu in the Kathmandu Valley, on the southern side of the Bagmati River, Patan is one of 3 royal cities in the valley.  A destination for connoisseurs of fine arts, Patan is filled with wood and stone carvings, metal statues, ornate architecture, including dozens of Buddhist and Hindu temples, and over 1200 monuments. The city of Patan is believed to have been built in the third century B.C. by the Kirat dynasty. It was expanded by Lichhavis in the 6th century A.D. and again by the Mallas in medieval period. Durbar Square, like its counterpart in Kathmandu, is an enchanting mélange of palace buildings, artistic courtyards and graceful pagoda temples. Listed as a World Heritage Site, the former royal palace complex is the center of Patan’s religious and social life, and houses a museum containing an array of bronze statues and religious objects.

AM: Sightseeing tour of Bhaktapur.

 

Bhaktapur: Perched on a hill at an altitude of 1,401 m, Bhaktapur or Bhadgaon literally city of Devotees, is a major tourist destination. It is 14 km east of Kathmandu on the Arniko Highway that leads to the Chinese border still untouched by rapid urbanization and has managed to retain its brick paved roads, charming red brick houses and way of life that goes back to medieval times. Here you will visit Nyatapola dedicated to tantric goddess, Bhairabh Temple dedicated to Bhariav-the god of terror, Pottery square, The 15th Century Palace of 55 carved windows, Golden Gate etc.

 

PM: Sightseeing tour of Pashupatinath and Boudhanath.

 

Pashupatinath: Pashupatinath temple is one of the holiest/sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated amidst a lush green natural setting on the bank of the sacred Bagmati river, the temple built in pagoda style has gilded roof and richly carved silver doors. Visitors will be permitted to view the temple from the east bank of Rivers Bagmati, entrance in the temple being strickly forbidden to all non-Hindus. Pashupatinath is the center of annual pilgrimage on the day of Shivaratri which falls in the month of February / March. Behind the temples are the cremation grounds. Chronicles indicate the temple existed before 400 A.D.

 

Boudhanath: This stupa, eight kilometers east of Kathmandu City is one of the biggest in the world of its kind and one of the most imposing landmarks in Kathmandu. It stands with four pairs of eyes in the four cardinal direction keeping watch for righteous behavior and human prosperity. This Buddhist stupa was built by King Man Dev at the advice of Goddess Mani Jjogini. It is built on an octagonal base inset with prayer wheels. The shrine is ringed by houses of Lamas or Buddhist priests.

Then transfer to airport to connect flight to Pokhara.

 Pokhara – Pokhara is a remarkable place for natural beauty at an altitude of 827 m above mean sea level & 200 km west of Kathmandu. This city is ever known as a real paradise in Earth. The Valley is filled with swift flowing river and dotted with clear gleaming lakes. It is blessed with the back drop is the most dramatic sceneries in world. A 140km of panoramic Himalayan ranges seem close enough to be touched. But also can be felt. The magnificence of the Himalayas rising behind the lake create an ambience of peace & magic, popular for water rafting, Kayaking and trekking expeditions.

Arrive Pokhara and transfer to hotel.

Later proceed for around an hour boat ride on Fewa Lake, then visit Davis falls, Gupteshwor cave and Tibetan Refugee Camp.

 Davi’s Fall which is the most famous water fall in Pokhara, which comes to its gushing best just before disappearing underground. The water flowing in this fall comes from Fewa lake and the fall is worth visiting during the rainy seasons as it possesses its maximum velocity.

Gupteswor Mahadev Cave, one of the longest caves in Nepal. The shining stones, a big stone that looks like snake’s head and tortoise which is consider as the image of the lord Shiva and different shapes of rocks like bee hives are the attraction of this cave.

Tibetan Refugee Camp, this settlement was previously a temporary camp set up by the UNHCR (United Nation High Commission for Refugees) for the large number of Tibetan refugees who had gradually found their way to Pokhara from the border areas of Tibet. At one time (1964) there were a total of 1000 persons at this camp but thereafter the number decreased as many of these people left for India.

Evening: Explore lakeside on your own.

After breakfast drive to Kande – approx. 1.5 hour drive then commence hike to Australian Camp village – approx. 1.5- 2 hours walk. It is a beautiful village best known, where on a clear day you can see an unobstructed view of the Himalayan Mountains of Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre, Manaslu range and also beautiful green hills. After spending sometime walk to Dhampus for approx. 2 -3 hours which is also beautiful Gurung village from where you can also have magnificent view of mountains. After spending sometime walk down aroung 1 hour to Phedi and drive to hotel in Pokhara – approx. 1 hours drive.

Later, transfer to airport to connect flight to Kathmandu.

 

Arrive Kathmandu and proceed to visit Kritipur.

 

Kirtipur is an ancient city with the historical essence, rich culture and and several monuments. It embraces many beautiful vihars, chaityas, temples and age old buildings. One will get a chance to see the blend of Hinduism and Buddhism. The ancient Newar township – with its brick-paved streets lined with typical red brick houses and tiled roofs, and temple squares – is a natural fortress. The temple of Bagh Bhairav which is holy to both Hindus and Buddhist, the triple roofed Uma Maheshwor Temple dedicated to Shiva and Parvati, The Chilanchu Vihara (stupa) are the main attraction of Kirtipur.

Transfer to hotel and check in (Check in at 1400 hours).

In time transfer to airport for their onward journey.
